Description

A pharmaceutical manufacturer is looking for a formulation scientist to join their growing team. You will be responsible for formulation development, manufacturing and analysis of vaccines. You must hold a minimum of a BSc in a relevant science, and previous laboratory experience to apply for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulation development and stabilisation of vaccines in solid dosages
  • Carry out formulation and manufacturing activities in the lab
  • Perform analysis and interpretation of data
  • Coordinate activities with others both inside and outside their immediate group
  • Generate protocols, technical and status reports
  • Stay current with scientific literature and the state of the art. Leverage existing knowledge appropriately, being mindful of potential intellectual property
  • Manage projects in line with timelines and budgets

  • Ability to plan, execute, record and report own scientific work accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to critically observe, organise and communicate observations
  • Able to work within a quality system and maintain traceable documentation
  • Team player and able to work on their own

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • BSc or PhD degree in relevant sciences
  • Relevant experience in vaccine or biologics manufacture and formulation development
  • Experience of in-vitro vaccine analysis e.g. cell based assay
  • Minimum of three years lab based experience in an R&D environment. GMP or aseptic based experience is desirable
  • Experience in formulation development processes such as freeze-drying, spray drying and powder blending is highly desirable
  • Good understanding of immunology is desirable

Salary £25k - £30k
