Health & Safety Engineer

A growing clean technology business is looking to appoint a Health & Safety Engineer to support and promote Health and Safety across the business as it continues to grow. As the Health & Safety Engineer you will Review & complete Risk and CoSHH Assessments carry out H&S inductions assist in writing and implementing safety features and ideally you will have worked within a hazardous manufacturing/production environment.

Health & Safety Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Review & complete Risk Assessments and CoSHH Assessments
  • Carry out H&S inductions
  • Issue Permit to Work
  • Prepare Health and Safety reports
  • Site Safety inspection & auditing
  • Assist in the writing implementing and reviewing Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Recommend/implement safety features to reduce employees' exposure to chemical physical and other hazards
  • Health & Safety issues’ investigation and root causation
  • You will report into the HSE Manager.

Health & Safety Engineer Requirements:

  • BSc or HND/HNC preferred
  • Experience of working in a safety-related role within a multi-hazard manufacturing environment
  • CoSHH industrial engineering and chemical safety experience
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
  • Good communication and organisation skills team player collaborative approach across all stakeholders
  • Proficiency in MS Office - Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook
  • Driving licence and own transport essential

Package: Competitive Salary, 25 days Holiday + Banks Free parking pension 8% Life assurance x 4
Hours: Mon-Fri 37½ per Week – Flexible
Sector: Clean Energy / Engineering / Fuel Cells
Location: Horsham with occasional travel to Surrey
