Laboratory Technician - Materials

A materials company is looking for a Laboratory Technician to join their Quality and Technical department. You will be responsible for the testing and assessment of materials and products. You must hold a science or engineering degree and ideally have some previous laboratory experience to apply for this role.


Achieve team targets, objectives and activities in line with company and department requirements.

Focus on delivering an effective service to ensure customers receive their orders on time in full and New Product Development testing meets plan.

Follow Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures as well as conforming to ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 standards.

Comply with Quality Management Systems requirements including ISO9001. Must have a good understanding of relevant SOPs, work instructions, documentation, polices and procedures.

Actively contribute to the improvement of the Quality Control assessment process and methods to ensure effective testing and inspection. Including standards, method validation, out of specification procedures, data recording and performance review.

Take responsibility for maintaining and improving own development and competence

Take an active role in the team to ensure good housekeeping and an efficient work environment

Education and experience required:

Science or Engineering Degree

Ideally Laboratory, Test or QC Inspection experience in a manufacturing or similar environment

Able to focus on deadlines and objectives. Work under own guidance and disciplined in following procedures and rule.

Ability to analyse and improve methods and activities using a fact based approach..

Ability to engage cross functionally to deliver excellent results

Work constructive with different people at different levels

Salary £18k - £20k
