LIMS System Administrator – (Laboratory Information Management Systems)

A multinational environmental consultancy is looking for a LIMS system administrator to join the technical team at its stare of the art facility in Bedford. As the acting LIMS system administrator within this organisation you will play a key role overseeing a variety of computerised systems including LIMS DMS and EQMS. You will also be tasked with researching and evaluating emerging technologies and implementing further software developments to maximise operational improvements.

To be successful as a LIMS system administrator you should hold a relevant scientific qualification possess previous laboratory or QA experience within a commercial environment and have a proven track-record in using/developing LIMS systems and packages.

LIMS System Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the use of the LIMS and other mentioned systems ensuring data compliance to ISO17025 GLP and other regulations.
  • Carry out LIMS duties including access management role permissions system audit trail review new test set up data mining and test optimisation.
  • As the main interface between the laboratory and IT department you will be required to provide support with any issues around laboratory software systems whilst maintaining compliance with group IT policy.
  • Perform helpdesk and support functions for complex issues in the laboratory including tracking analysis resolution coordination and training.

LIMS System Administrator Requirements:

  • Hold a scientific qualification within a relevant discipline.
  • Possess previous experience working with LIMS systems and packages.
  • Previous laboratory or QA experience gained within a technical environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail coupled with first class communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SQL would be highly advantageous.
  • Ability to manage and carry out multiple IT tasks.

37.5 Hours per Week – Monday to Friday – 9am to 5pm
