Description

We are working with a leading scientific business who require an Electrical Engineer to assist in planned maintenance and corrective works on all production equipment, machine and site facilities in the Facilities and Utilities team. The successful candidate will hold an electro technical qualification with working knowledge of PLC controls, AC units, effluents plants and water systems ideally within a lean/continuous improvement environment. 


Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned maintenance on utilities and production equipment
  • Carry out maintenance and corrective works on all machines and site facilities
  • Respond to breakdowns and diagnose common faults
  • Carry out root cause analysis and implement counter measures
  • Be responsible and take ownership of key utility plant to ensure equipment functions within normal working parameters
    • Identify any improvements that can be made to ensure the efficiency and safe operation
  • Proactively reduce site running costs by identifying improvements and efficiency measures
  • Coordinate parts sourcing ordering and control costs on work load
  • Report all incidents and hazards. Conform to and maintain area safety standards for safe working practices and good house keeping
  • Actively promote health and safety awareness
  • Communicate and liaise with other departments to allow completion against set timescales

Electrical Engineer Experience Required:

  • City and Guild Level 3 NVQ electro technical systems
  • City and Guild Level 3 requirements of installations BS7671: 2011
  • AM2 Certificate of electro technical occupational competence
  • IPAF 3a 3b
  • Competent person pressure systems
  • Experience working with/on PLC Controls, effluent plants, steam boilers, refrigeration, air condition, water systems
  • Experience working with SAP
  • Knowledge of PPI, 5s, Kaizan activities and/or Understanding of continuous improvement techniques

Job Type: Permanent, full-time shift (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm) 
Package: £25k - £30k + 20% Shift Allowance Benefits
