Description

An opportunity has arisen for a technical service chemist to join a leading specialist materials manufacturing business at its R&D facility in the heart of Somerset. As a technical service chemist you will work closely with the technical leaders both in the UK and overseas on multiple product formulation and development projects. You will also be responsible for supporting and advising customers with product selection application and technical advice.

To be successful as a technical service chemist you should hold a recognised degree in chemistry or related field of material polymer science. With this you will also have previous experience working in a commercial environment ideally with specialist materials including: Polymers Elastomers Silicones or Coatings.

Technical Service Chemist Responsibilities:

  • Develop new polymer and elastomer based products.
  • Advise customers around product specifications and application.
  • Support the sales team with technical questions and queries from customers.
  • Generate new project applications to suit clients’ needs.
  • Answer technical enquiries around REACH RoHS and other regulations and documentation.

Technical Service Chemist Requirements:

  • Hold a recognised degree in chemistry or related field of material polymer science.
  • Previous experience working in a commercial environment ideally with specialist materials including: Polymers Elastomers Silicones or Coatings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas when necessary.
  • Computer literate with strong Microsoft skills: Word Excel Outlook etc.

Salary: £25 000 - £30 000 + Benefits – 21 Days Holiday + Banks (Increasing on time with the company) – Company Pension – Training & Development

Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours per week - 8.30am to 5.00pm
