Description

A growing clean technology business is looking to appoint a Test Technician to provide support with the operation of test stands, managing the test pieces and developing improving and optimising procedures. As the Test Technician you will also build and maintain test stands. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an R&D focused organisation moving into manufacturing.

Test Technician Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintenance of Test Stands including:
    • Maintenance and calibration of installed and portable equipment
    • Deliver electromechanical build projects
    • Troubleshoot issues and make proactive improvements
  • Installation and removal of test pieces from the Test Stands
  • Carry out pre-operation checks on the test pieces and Test Stands
  • Operation of automated Test Stands
  • Work to ensure availability of Test Stands
  • Carry out and report scheduled Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks on time
  • Work with team on continuous improvement activities
  • Test Stand wiring
  • Fit and configure instrumentation to Test Stands and calibrate as required
  • Provide support to Senior Test Stand Specialist with stand configuration management
  • Generate and follow work instructions
  • Maintain critical spares

Test Technician Requirements:

Required:

  • HNC level in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Ability to read and produce diagrams and schematics (ideally electrical electronic and P&ID)
  • Mechanical and electrical fitting skills
  • Experience of lab or industrial safety procedures
  • Organised and methodical
  • Competent user of MS office packages

Desirable:

  • Experience of operating automated test software
  • Practical working knowledge of sensors actuators instrumentation wiring and control systems
  • Experience of working in a product development or research environment
  • Industrial wiring e.g. contactors breakers 3-phase.
  • Digital electronics e.g. diodes transistors PWM.
  • Analogue electronics e.g. resistors inductors capacitors band pass filters.
